Bottle Shock is a 2008 movie based on the 1976 wine competition “The Judgment of Paris”. Six California Chardonnays were blind tasted against the top 6 French Chardonnays. I am sure by now you know what country was awarded the best Chardonnay! We will be blind tasting several of the current releases from California including Chateau Montelena, Grgich, and Gustavo wines and several of the French entries and you can be the judge in 2018. During the tasting we will be showing several video interviews with winemakers and winery owners from the movie and a clip of what was true and not true in the movie.
The tasting will be followed by a buffet of Chardonnay friendly food pairings and a showing of the Bottle Shock movie.
