EXTRA Lehigh Valley Chapter Tasting
Bring a Bottle that Hurts
Sunday, October 3, 2021, at 2 PM
Hosts: Bob and Kim Hale
Location: At their home in Easton, PA
A little history on this event … About 2008 or so, Ned Huber, Don Appleton, Percy Dougherty and Bob Hale started a wine tasting concept to enjoy better wines at a price point everyone could live with.
In an effort to be COVID-safe, the tasting will be held outside in the back yard, sitting at a single large table (dress appropriately for the weather that day). If it is very cold or wet the tasting will move inside with the windows open. The "single table format" assures that everyone will be included in the discussion at all times. To maximize spacing, spectators will not be allowed at this event. The group will collectively discuss and decide the sequence of wines to be poured -- a really fun part of the tasting! With 1-1.25 ounce pours everyone should be able to take about a third of their bottle home.
There will be a dinner (with supplied wine) after the tasting. An additional cost of $21 per person will be collected at registration to cover dinner (and dinner wine). Register for this tasting on the website at LVAWS.org.
Bob and Kim Hale plan on offering another "Hurts" Tasting in late-Spring 2022 to both the Northampton and Lehigh Valley AWS chapters.
