Campania has a rich and renowned viticultural history dating to before the Roman Empire, featuring a diverse set of indigenous grapes. Its capital and largest city is Naples (Napoli en Italiano), and is well known for the ruins of Pompeii, the Amalfi coast, and the island of Capri. We will taste through some of the most important grape varieties and explore a few of the subregions within Campania - the home of the original “Italian” cuisine that conquered the world with its pizza, tomato-based sauces, cheeses, and pastas. We will start off with a sparkling brut ice breaker, then taste 4 interesting white wines and 6 reds, demonstrating the diversity and rustic character of the region.
Please bring 2 wine glasses and wine to share.
