The October 2024 issue of Wine Spectator declared 2021 to be the best year ever for California Zinfandel, with 2022 being just as good. That is a pretty bold statement considering they have been making Zinfandel in California for over 100 years!
This will be a blind tasting pitting Sonoma against Paso Robles. The wines will be primarily from 2021 with a few 2022 and one from 2020. The tasting will feature the top Zinfandel producers and some of the oldest and best vineyards. We will start with a rose ice breaker from Turley. After that, Sonoma will be represented by Seghesio, Bedrock, Mauritson and Carlisle. Paso Robles will be represented by Peachy Canyon, Ridge and Turley.
Delizioso’s will be serving a buffet meal designed to pair well with Zinfandel.
January 12 is an NFL Wildcard day, but the first game does not start until 4:30.
Please bring 2 wine glasses & a bottle of your favorite Zinfandel to share.
