Zinfandel and Primitivo are one of those great wine world “same but different” stories. They’re genetically identical grapes, yet they’ve evolved into two distinct personalities because of where they’re grown, how they’re farmed, and the styles winemakers aim for. Think of them as twins raised in different households — the DNA matches, but the expression diverges. Zinfandel from California and Primitivo from Italy.
In this tasting we will have the opportunity to taste and compare the two wines side by side and weigh in on which we prefer. Be prepared for some fun banter between Joe and Kevin and some wonderful wines.
