Portugal offers an incredible diversity of wine terroirs and styles and is practically untouched by the “Internationalization” of the wine world - you’ll have to search hard to find Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot. Over 250 native grape varieties are grown for wine here! And the regions cover a range of diversity, from the cooler Atlantic-influenced north to the sun-drenched dry south. You may know Portugal for just fortified port wines and crisp Vinho Verde, but there’s much more to be discovered.
Through a series of high-quality wines, we will explore a few of the major winegrowing regions and grape varieties of the country, from crisp whites to high throttle, rich reds. Plus, some intriguing in- betweens! Amphora-aged white, a 16-year-old red, and a region known for its Burgundy-like qualities.
