In this first tasting Dean & Bonnie are having in July, Dean has purchased 7 wines from Pio Cesare Winery. These wines are Barolo and Barbarossa DOCG wines. The winery is in the Piedmont Region of Italy. Dean indicates:
We will be doing this tasting with a video from Vincent Atler. He does the wine show, “V is for Vino”. In this video, Vince talks about the Piedmont region, the winery and he prepares Pollo alla Cacciatora and Risotto with the winemaker’s wife.
We will also have this for dinner and tasting the same wines as in the video. This tasting will also be limited to about 15 people.
The tasting will be on our deck and not in the vineyard. We are in the process of downsizing the vineyard as the price and demand for local grapes is diminishing. And I am enjoying retirement too much to work in the vineyard all summer. We took out 8 rows of vines last year and 10 this year. So, sorry, no more tasting in the vineyard this year.
